December bills are newsletter expenses, lawn cutting services, and gifts to field neighbors. Motion passed to pay the bills. OLD BUSINESS There was more discussion on the spread spectrum radio system. It will keep track of the receiver and the plane programmed into the transmitter and make sure that they match before the channel is activated. NEW BUSINESS Motion passed to pay Leon Cordy for his efforts for field upkeep. Motion passed to provide a gift certificate to the field neighbors. More discussion on the field improvements was held. Per the drawing, it was decided to add a new section to the field starting at the northwest corner of the present field and extending to the northeast for 250 feet. This will place the new field eastern boundary about 25 feet from the road and will allow an 800-foot runway at the longest point. It will also provide an area about 300 by 700 feet for normal field operations. A motion was passed to proceed with the field improvements as discussed with a cost limit of $ 4,500. The work is expected to start near the end of August. A field and grounds committee or similar group will be established to coordinate the efforts of the members to put in the grass seed and fertilizer once the field is leveled. President s Corner Happy New Year! Welcome 2007! It should be a very good year for the Calumet Flyers. At the last meeting, a motion was made and passed to make considerable field improvements beginning in mid-August of 2007. It will require some sacrifice in flying time for the latter part of the year, but we should be able to start 2008 with all the improvements completed. More discussion will come as plans are finalized and the time to get to work draws near. More immediately, we have the Snowflake Fly/Chili Dump, and the annual banquet coming up in February. If you plan to attend the banquet, please get your money in soon so that we will know how many people will be attending. The food is always great! By that time, we ll be half way to spring! Also, be sure to get your AMA license and memberships renewed. I hope to see all of you next year in good health, and in good flying form at the field and the river. Good Flying! Greg R. Dietzen

Lasagna Party It was a rather dreary day for the annuallasagna party but in spite of the wet weather, we had a good turn out. A few ventured out to fly, but the majority of attendees spent the afternoon inside. As usual; the lasagna was very good and we had a variety of desserts to choose from. Thanks to all who contributed. Happy New Year, Kelly Sweetman/Newsletter Editor The person who bought the Edge 540 from Al Falnes /Tom Skell, should contact Jerry Schoen at (920) 766-2034.
